Moline presided over called meeting to order at 7:00PM. Present at meeting were Fred Dietze, Mark Meierotto, Brian Wert, Liz Moline, Sarah Wang, Bill Wanner and Gale Qualls.
Dietze made a motion to approve the July 19th minutes as presented, Qualls seconded. Motion carried.
Irina Shimko of Red Star Kennels requested an expansion of their special exception for a dog kennel. The original special exception permit was issued in 1996. They would like to increase the allowed number of dogs from ten to fifty. This is in addition to the ten dogs that they own. This is mostly a training operation but they also do boarding and grooming. They have two employees and would add two more. This land is zoned AG-RES; if this is a home occupation, they are limited to one employee. They also do training sessions for up to twenty dogs, which they have permission to do now. This is in reference to Section 105-10.G(3)(d). (Town Board should look at this ordinance to check if something is missing)
Wanner made a motion to recommend to the Town Board to amend the special exception to allow up to thirty dogs maximum including their own, and to add a number seven to allow the Town to do an annual inspection of the property, and delete “this home” of number 1. Qualls seconded.
Motion carried. Two nay votes. Dietze would have allowed fifty.
Discussion held about whether we should update the zoning ordinance. Suggestions, add definitions, redo the PUD section.
Wang made a motion to adjourn, Qualls seconded. Motion carried.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30PM
